Mythological Story

Lord Brahma decided to create this universe again. Therefore he seeked the help from Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha appeared before Lord Bramha and gave the blessing. . In return of which Lord Bramha offered Him, His daughters Siddhi and Riddhi. As Lord Brahma started creating the universe again, two devils named Madhu and Kaitubha appeared from Lord Vishnu's ear. They started troubling Lord Bramha, due to which the process of creation of Universe was disturbed. Lord Bramha approached Lord Vishnu for the help and asked to get rid off both these devils. Lord Vishnu challenged both the devils & fought with them for more than 5000 years but no one succeeded in that battle. Lord Vishnu asked the reason for the failure from Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva told before the battle you didn't prayed to Lord Ganesha. Now you do the tapascharya and please Lord Ganesha. Lord Vishnu went to a small lonely mountain and prayed to Lord Ganesha until he appeared before him. Lord Ganesha gave Siddhi to Lord Vishnu to kill both the devils. With the help of Siddhi Lord Vishnu killed both the devils. After which Lord Vishnu built a big temple on the spot where he got Siddhi from Lord Ganesha. The idol of Lord Ganesha was made from Gandaki stone and named this idol as Siddhivinayak and the place as Siddhatek.
